一. Training target

Cultivating high-level professional sports talents with all-round development of morality, intelligence and physique and innovative spirit and practical ability in the field of physical education and training.

三. Length of schooling

The Length of schooling of academic doctorate with the starting point of master's degree is 3-4 years, and the longest period is no more than 7 years.

四. Core curriculum

(一) sport humanistic sociology major: progress in the research of sports humanities and Sociology, sports, culture and society, sports anthropology, comparative culturology.

(二) human movement science major: the development frontier of human body science, physiological psychology, human engineering, basic principles of motion and functional recovery, experimental psychology.

(三) physical education and training major: the development frontier of physical teaching and training, the basic theory of physical education, the basis of exercise physiology, Progress in the research of sports psychology, and the direction guiding course.

(四) national traditional sports science major: progress in the traditional sports studies, the theory of traditional sports culture, the basic principles of Wushu, the excavation and arrangement of traditional folk sports.

五. Credit requirements for academic degree

The credits for the courses taken are no less than 20 credits, and the credits for thesis research are 30 credits.

六.Training way and method

Giving priority to scientific research, and focusing on cultivating doctoral students’ independent and creative research ability.

Adopting the system of tutor responsibility, and implementing the training method of giving priority to tutor guidance and a combination of the tutor and tutor group. Tutors should be fully responsible for the academic achievements, scientific research level and ideological and political education of postgraduates to ensure the quality of postgraduate training. The tutor group gives checks and collaborative guidance,and adopts the necessary collective training methods and measures to ensure the implementation of postgraduate work.

During the three years of study, at least 4 academic papers related to the major should be completed, of which 2 are published in the core domestic sports periodicals or read out at major academic conferences at home and abroad.

七. Thesis

A doctoral dissertation is a systematic and complete academic thesis independently completed by a doctoral student under the guidance of the tutor and guiding group. It is required that the author should make creative achievements in science or expertise on the selected subjects, and have great significance for the development of this discipline and specialty.

八. Graduation and degree awarding

Doctoral students who complete curriculum learning and fill the required credits within the period of schooling and also pass through thesis defense and meet the requirements of graduation will be approved to graduate from school. Meanwhile, meeting the requirements of Regulations of the People's Republic of China on Academic Degrees and the standards of awarding the degree of our school will be granted a doctor's degree through the examination and vote of the school degree evaluation committee.
