On January 14th, the completion ceremony and report performance of the Tai chi class of 2017 Confucius institute of Henan University was held in our martial arts gym. 12 students presented their results for one semester’s study. Zhang Dachao, dean of the School of Physical Education, Liang Jianzhong, vice dean of the International School for Chinese Language and Culture, Niu Yunjie and Zhang Hui, vice dean of our school, together with the head teacher and other teaching staff were present at the activity. The report performance was a complete success.
Liang Jianzhong expressed his congratulations to the students in Tai Chi class on successful completion of the study through their hard work; and extended thanks to the teachers at all levels for their hard work. Liang encouraged students to continue their efforts to learn Chinese language and Chinese culture, and to be outstanding alumni of Henan University. The students shared their learning experience one by one. They were very grateful to the school for providing them with good learning opportunities. Therefore, they could happily devote themself to the study of Tai Chi and other courses. They stated that they hope to come back to study in Henan University in the future.
In the report performance, students brought shows such as recitations, tongue twisters, and opusculum, as well as artistic performances such as Guqin. In the Tai Chi presentation, students performed traditional sports such as Tai Chi Push Hands, Tai Chi Swords, Shaolin Boxing, and Baduanjin. The students' smooth and coherent movements were just like flowing water. They stretched the circle, and presented the upright and comfortable posture, showing the beauty of the harmony of Tai Chi. After the performance, Zhang Dachao delivered a speech and awarded the student with a certificate of completion. He thanked the students for their wonderful performance. He affirmed the strict, patient and meticulous teaching of Fan Yijie in our school. At the same time, he encouraged the students to learn the martial arts well and deepen the understanding of the essence of Chinese martial arts.
It is reported that the 12 students are the first batch of students from one semester class of Tai Chi in Confucius Institute of International School of Henan University. They are from Belarus, Germany, South Korea, Cameroon, the United States and Sudan respectively.
