1. Education Objectives and Requirements
(1) Objectives
This major is designed to enhance students’ overall development of morality, intelligence, physique and aesthetics and help them systematically master the basic knowledge, basic theories and basic skills of sports science, special training competitions, social sports guidance, modern sports training concepts, health concepts, innovative spirit, and strong special sports skills, sports training instruction and competition organization skills, so students can be qualified to engage in special sports training instruction, competition, teaching and scientific research in sports schools, primary and secondary schools, sports clubs, enterprises and institutions.
(2) Requirements
Students in this major mainly study the basic theory and knowledge of physical motion and training, train their special sports techniques and the abilities of relative management, contests, and refereeing related to competitive sports and school sports, solidly master professional knowledge and special sports ability, gain preliminary research ability, and increase their specific sport training, teaching and innovation quality, the refereeing abilities of special sports activities and the ability to organize competitive sports.
2. Academic System and Degree
(1) A flexible academic system is implemented. The basic length of schooling lasts 4 years. Students of sports training major can complete their study in 3 to 7 years.
(2) Graduates who meet the requirements of the degree ordinance are awarded with a bachelor's degree in education.
3. Graduation requirements
There are 150 credits for graduation, 83.5 for compulsory courses, and 46.5 for optional courses, and 20 for intensive practical teaching.

5. Core Curriculum
Sports anatomy, introduction to sports, exercise physiology, sociology of sports, psychology of physical education, health education, research methods of sport science, sports competition, sports training, motor learning and control, sport hygiene, and special technologies and theories.
